French Heritage Society celebrated its annual New York Gala on October 31st, 2018 at The Plaza Hotel. Themed The Black and Orange Ball, the festival event (which coincided with the Halloween) was packed with guests in exquisite gowns and colorful masks. The Cocktail started at 7pm, followed by an elegant dinner and music and dancing with Alex Donner and his orchestra.
The event was organized under the gracious patronage of His Excellency Gérard Araud, Ambassador of France to the United States, His Excellency François Delattre, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of France to the United Nations, and Mrs. Sophie L’Hélias-Delattre, Ms. Anne-Claire Legendre, Consul General of France in New York, and Mrs. Bénédicte de Montlaur, Cultural Counselor of the French Embassy in the United States.
Since 1982, friends and supporters of FHS have been dedicated to sharing the mutual love of French cultural heritage, preserving and restoring the historical French architecture. FHS has contributed to over 580 restoration grants and helped secure $21.2 million for historic monuments, buildings and gardens in France. There are 11 Chapters of the Society throughout the United States and Paris.
