Annual Atlantic Theater Gala Attracts Big Names For Great Cause

The annual Actors’ Choice Gala put on by Atlantic Theater Company kicked off on Monday, March 7th at the gorgeous Pierre Hotel in downtown Manhattan. A night that celebrated Atlantic’s actors with an evening of music and performances directed by Neil Pepe, with musical direction by Matt Gallagher. 

The evening honored David Richenthal and the Richenthal foundation for their long-term support of Atlantic’s mission. The performances during the evening by talents such as Will Chase, Ted Danson, Will Forte, Ingrid Michaelson, and more highlighted the generous donations received that night to continue the non-profit theater company’s mission. 

Since it’s inception in 1985 the Atlantic Theater Company has produced over 120 plays. The theater’s foundation supports many arts education initiatives in New York City such as Student Matinee which introduces theater to 3,500 public school students each year by sending teaching artists on classroom visits as well as bringing classes to an Atlantic production. In addition, the theater supports the Staging Success program which provides cross-curricular classes to 400 high school students In Brooklyn, helping to improve student engagement and academic performance.
