Fall in love with versatility when you pick from the key moods of the season.

Get swept away with details like princess sleeves, lace and blowsy florals. It’s easy to fall hopelessly in love with pieces that celebrate the female form. Match a fitted damask coat to a moody floral dress. A girlish lace frock, shoes with sexy cutouts, pretty bow brooches, and a dusty pink clutch play up a frankly femme topper with a graphic rose print.

Fur Trim

Fur trim dances off the cuff and collar to show up in some surprising places this fall. This knit coat is embellished with tactile panels — keep the rest of the look low-key with a tonal shift dress. A camel hair coat is lavished with fur hem, but has a sporty quilted hood to handle inclement weather. This coat begs for timeless classics: grey flannels, designer leather boots, a lock-clasp handbag and chic turtleneck.

The boho look is a perennial favourite because it captures a free-spirited vibe and encourages experimentation. Oxblood is used as a palette base to tie the luxe elements together. Add ruby jewel tones, a saffron-hue suede fringed purse, and rich fabrics like leather and fur. Layer a folkloric coat over a 70s-style flared skirt, or amp up the sleek sophistication of a leather sheath with patchwork thigh-high boots.

Whether classes are on your agenda this fall or not, the prep school look always wins top marks. Sharp peacoats with rows of golden buttons can be worked two distinct ways. Either embrace the coat’s nautical roots and follow through with a tailored style white shirt, grey flannels and a trilby hat. Or soften the look with flowing dress and suede booties to play up the masculine/feminine contrast.
